During the series of Strictly several of us came together on BBC boards dedicated to Ian Waite. We all shared the same idea about him, he’s a great dancer, a wonderful teacher, and my oh my he makes our hearts beat faster. Having shared our opinions and ideas during the show, this all came to a fast end when the BBC boards closed after Strictly 2008 had finished. Several of us had already found their way to the DS boards, and some of us just found them by accident, trying to keep up with the scores from the live Tour.

In the past a thread about Ian had been made called “Planet Waite” and this is where it all came together. Seven women from three different countries found each other. Besides the latest Ian gossip, and the ever continuing conversations about samba’s on the beach we also got to know one another and started decorating the planet. That is where our mascot the leopard came in.

Since we had our own planet and some of us already had Angelic names Ian’s International Angels was an easy result. When we heard about several events where Ian and Camilla would perform, we quickly thought that this could be an excellent way to meet!!

So it happened that on the 2nd of May 2009 we all came together in Prestwich to finally all meet Ian. We all had a great time that night and not only was meeting Ian the best thing ever, we also had a great time together. After that weekend we decided that Ian deserves his own appreciation website and the idea was born.

Since then some of us have visited showcases by Ian and Camilla. We hope to come together as a whole group once a year. This year our man is back again for the next series, so the Angel network can expand even further!!
