Ian and Strictly Come Dancing
After Ian had returned home from the Netherlands he first saw Strictly Come Dancing. Whilst watching he thought the he should be on that show, and in 2004 Ian joined the Strictly Come Dancing family. Since than Ian has been on every series most of them very successful.
In his first year Ian got paired with Olympic Gold Medal winner Denise Lewis. With whom he reached all the way through the finals. Series three proved to be another success when he got paired with TV presenter Zoe Ball. Zoe and Ian reached through the finals but got send of just before the climax. They later came back on several Christmas Specials, and Zoe even performed in a pro dance.
Series four was less of a success when Mica Paris and Ian got voted off in their first week. In series five Ian got paired with Penny Lancaster Steward. They had ups and downs and eventually the salsa got the better of them and in week six this lovely partnership ended.
If everyone thought they had seen the tallest pair with Zoe and Ian, they were wrong. In series six Ian got paired with model, polo player, race babe Jodie Kidd. The two made a lovely pair and came up to week ten.
This year Ian is paired up with two times European and Commonwealth silver medallist Jade Johnson. For Jade Strictly is a warm up towards the Olympics in London in 2012, and we think it is the best one she could ever have. Jade has already danced for Comic Relief so she is no stranger to shaking her bum and being in the spotlight. We think this is a pair that could go all the way into the finals, and let’s face it, Ian deserves it and after being second for so many times, so does Jade! It would time now to finally win the Glitterball!!
Unfortunately due to an injury Jade & Ian had to pull out in week 10. They had not danced in week 9 due to that injury. They were allowed one week off, but to no avail. It is a shame as this couple could have gone so far. Jade & Ian were a fabulous pair. They always did that bit extra on the dance floor, and it will be missed now the rest of the series has to continue without them. Because of the injury Jade & Ian never got to dance their Tango. In the finals of SCD 2009 Jade & Ian were give the opportunity to finally dance THAT Tango everyone had been waiting for. It was a fantastic dance which brought many emotions to Jade, Ian and us Angels. It felt like series 7 finally had closure.
In series 8 of ‘Strictly’ Ian will not be competing with a celebrity. Instead he will be dancing in the ‘Strictly Showdance Troup’. A special designed dance group that will perform showstopping performances. If the shows are anything like the Pro Tour we are in for some amazing routines! Ian is confident that he will be back next year.. Better and stronger... Will series 9 be the year for Ian??
